Initially conceived as a sequel to David DeCoteau's amusing Prison of the Dead (2000), this straight-to-video horror film was written by minor cult actor Trent Haaga. The story line posits a new reality-based television series along the lines of Fear Factor in which five attractive models must spend the night in a haunted asylum for a million-dollar prize. There's a greedy producer who sets booby-traps for the girls along the way, not knowing that there is a real presence in the hospital -- the ghost of an evil millionaire who had kidnapped several young women years before, hoping to force them to marry him. The contestants make confessions to the cameras strategically placed within, only to have their deepest fears used against them by the malevolent ghost. Joe Estevez shows up as well, adding a small bit of name value to a cast including Debra Mayer, Tanya Dempsey, and Stacey Scowley. This was one of several collaborations between B-movie moguls J.R. Bookwalter and Charles Band, concluding with Dead & Rotting the same year. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide

Murder holds a small Georgia town in the grip of fear during the first summer of the new millennium, and when all the evidence in the investigation points to a long dead criminal as the culprit, an up and coming attorney is forced to do battle with her own long-buried past in director's Rick Jordan's dark thriller. Though initial inspection by police investigators Kevin Dougherty and Sam Maddox reveals no common factor between the two initial murders, further inspection reveals that they are strangely connected to the legacy of local troublemaker Jesse Lownds; a revelation that may not have been surprising save for the fact that Lownds has been dead and buried for thirty-years. When attorney Alison Davis learns that one of the victims was her business partner and her own connections with Lownds run deeper than she previously thought, the frightened lawyer must team up with the dumfounded detectives to reveal just how a long-dead killer can claim two victims nearly three decades after being laid to rest. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Pablo Hernandez (Jesus Nebot) was a professor of literature in Honduras when a hurricane descended on his city and wiped away nearly everything he had. But Pablo's bad luck comes back with a vengeance when, after borrowing his boss' truck, he accidentally runs into a child playing in the street; Pablo flees the scene of the crime, and after collecting his daughter, tries to stay one step ahead of police detective Bryan (Vernee Watson-Johnson), who has been assigned to bring the driver to justice. Needing to flee the country, Pablo finds a benefactor in Soid (Lindsay Price), a renegade documentary filmmaker who offers to give him and his daughter a lift to Mexico. However, Soid's help comes with a price -- she wants to make a film about Pablo's flight from the law, and she's eager to milk the incident for as much publicity as possible. When a fellow vice detective is killed trying to crack a drug ring, Bill and Jake make it their personal responsibility to bring in the killers and take the drugs off the street. However, they quickly discover that they've severely underestimated the ruthlessness and brutality of the dealers (played by Tina Nguyen, Joe Lando, Courtney Gains, and Bruce Nelson) and that their lives are in great danger. No Code of Conduct was the first feature written and directed by Bret Michaels, who rose to fame in the 1980s as the lead singer with the popular rock band Poison. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
