The third season of Six Feet Under continues its long, slow setup with another episode devoted to patient character development. Claire (Lauren Ambrose) finally decides she's had enough of her hottie beau's philandering; she kicks Phil (J.P. Pitoc) to the curb and throws herself into art school, where new friend Russell (Ben Foster) and new instructor Olivier (Peter MacDissi) liven things up. Lisa (Lili Taylor), meanwhile, escapes a toxic relationship of her own by walking out on Carol (Catherine O'Hara), her neurotic movie-exec boss. A frustrated Nate (Peter Krause) resigns himself to moving his young family back into his mother's home. Ruth (Frances Conroy) is overjoyed at Nate's return, although she's also busy enjoying the hijinks of Bettina (Kathy Bates), her straight-talking, shoplifting new insta-best friend. As for David (Michael C. Hall) and Keith (Mathew St. Patrick), they struggle to loosen up and enjoy a poolside vacation together. Fun is eventually had, although their return to the city soon destroys any easygoing momentum they've attained. Amidst such minutiae, the biggest drama occurs with this week's featured death: a young woman (Megan Austin Oberle) mowed down by a car as a direct result of a cruel prank played by friends. Originally broadcast March 16, 2003, on HBO, "The Eye Inside" marked season three, episode three of the made-for-cable drama. ~ Brian J. Dillard, Rovi

He is helped by Dr. Noah, a scientist who originally designed the city. They plan a major attack on Ecoban's power grid, the Delos System. Preoccupied by the upcoming wedding of his daughter -- and the fact that he has not been invited -- Greg Medavoy (Gordon Clapp) may well be to blame when an unstable homicide suspect sneaks a weapon into the 15th and holds Andy Sipowicz (Dennis Franz) hostage in the interview room. As Lt. Rodriguez (Esai Morales) tries to defuse the situation, a nervous Andy comes up with a fascinating psychological strategy of his own. And in the wake of the "grudge match" in her honor, Rita Ortiz (Jacqueline Obradors) finds herself attracted to John Clark Jr. (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) -- so much so that they spend the night together. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Having at last scored a victory against the Dominion, Sisko and his crew prepare to celebrate at the long-awaited wedding of Worf and Dax. But before the couple can enjoy connubial bliss, they must endure a few "inconveniences," including Worf's painful, ritualistic Klingon bachelor party, and the efforts by Worf's surrogate mother Sirella (Shannon Cochran) to kill the bride-to-be. Even so, Bashir is able to survey the situation and comment happily "There's nothing more romantic than a DS9 wedding in the springtime." Coming as it does in the middle of one of the series' grimmest story arcs, "You Are Cordially Invited. . ." was a welcome and refreshingly amusing change of pace. First telecast November 10, 1997, the episode was written by Ronald D. Moore. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
