An ageing poet sees his son's attempt at preserving his memory as an invasion of his privacy in Pomegranates and Cain director Saeed Ebrahimifar's tender tale of shifting family dynamics. Having recently returned to his Iranian hometown of Kerman, former French émigré Iraj (Mahdi Ahmadi) longs to capture candid portraits of his father Roshan (Saeed Pursamimi). Armed with a handy digital camera, Iraj continually ambushes the curmudgeonly poet in an ongoing attempt to capture the perfect unselfconscious snapshot. Though Iraj's his aim is affectionate, it couldn't be more annoying to his ageing father. Compounding the father's woes is the fact that his peers at the local poetry club focus so much on ongoing rivalries that most of the local poets never even have the opportunity to recite their works. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
