Ken Davitian Movies
With his rotund build and Eastern-European looks, Armenian-American player Ken Davitian seemed tailor-made for character roles. For the majority of his first decade onscreen, however, Davitian appeared in fairly lackluster movies, such as Talkin' Dirty After Dark (1991), Bikini Summer (1991), Sexual Intent (1994), and The Silence of the Hams (1994). His fate changed just a bit around the turn of the millennium -- first on the small screen, with guest appearances in such blockbuster series as ER and Gilmore Girls, and then cinematically, when Borat (2006) creators brought him on board that mockumentary farce as Azamat Bagatov, Borat Sagdiyev's (Sacha Baron Cohen) devoted producer (who performs a rather deviant and embarrassing act in a hotel room). Not long after, the producers of the 2008 big-screen vehicle Get Smart (based on the popular 1960s TV spy comedy) tapped Davitian for a choice role in that movie. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie GuideSeparated from his wife of many years and left with no one to turn to for guidance or advice, the fifty-five year old owner of a small ice cream parlor moves in with his two bachelor employees, giving everyone involved the opportunity to reevaluate their lives and reassess their priorities. It's summer, and business at Ray Fulton's ice cream shop is booming. His slick manager Gevorg and his enthusiastic underling do their best to keep the business running as smooth as soft serve, yet a series of events are about to unfold that will show these three men just how unpredictable life can truly be. One afternoon, after Ramon gets into an altercation at work, Ray is forced to let him go. While Gevorg is kind enough to take Ramon in long enough for him to find a new job and get back on his feet, a second disaster follows in quick succession when Ray's long-time wife decides to file for separation seemingly out of the blue and for reasons the unsuspecting parlor owner can't fully understand. Recognizing another friend in need - and still with room to spare in his spacious home - Gevorg opens his doors to Ray as well. Later, just as the three men are beginning to settle into a comfortable routine, Ray's daughter Emily arrives in town on a mission to rescue her parents' relationship. But Ray is so wrapped up in his quest to rediscover his own identity that he doesn't seem to have much time for Emily, leaving her to form an unlikely bond with Gevorg that prompts the smooth-talking womanizer to take a second look at his rambunctious lifestyle. Meanwhile, Ramon considers entering into a potentially profitable marriage of convenience with Armenian beauty Susannah who's looking to get a green card, but finds the situation complicated after recognizing that he has better chemistry with her best friend Tami. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Master of disguise Sacha Baron Cohen hits the road to explore America as the crude Kazakstani reporter Borat in a feature mockumentary that brings one of the Da Ali G Show star's most popular characters to life on the big screen. Sent by the Kazakh Ministry of Information to gain a better understanding of American culture and bring his findings back home, Borat and faithful producer Azamat (Ken Davitian) set their sights in New York City. When the citizens and interview subjects of the Big Apple seem less than receptive to Borat's distinctively unrestrained approach and the curious Kazakh television personality stumbles across an episode of Baywatch while channel-surfing in his hotel room, he becomes instantly smitten with screen siren Pamela Anderson. Now confident that the only way to discover the true essence of America is to travel to California and make the bikini-clad beauty his bride, Borat purchases a ramshackle ice-cream truck in which he and Azamat will make their way across the Great Plains and on to the sunny West Coast -- all the while coming into contact with a wide variety of "typical" Americans. Within this loose, scripted framework, Borat engages in his usual misbehavior with unsuspecting strangers, from accidentally releasing a chicken from his suitcase on a New York subway ride to a formal interview with Alan Keyes. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

With Lisa (Lili Taylor) still missing, mortality hangs heavily in the air as Six Feet Under begins its third-season finale. Simultaneously, however, romantic and sexual liaisons spring -- and cling -- to life. Brenda (Rachel Griffiths) enjoys a chaste, quirky date with a sexy neighbor, while Federico (Freddy Rodriguez) finds solace from his marital problems in the arms of a stripper, David (Michael C. Hall) reluctantly agrees to reconcile with Keith (Mathew St. Patrick), and a defiant Ruth (Frances Conroy) decides to marry George (James Cromwell) after all. Her announcement elicits a variety of negative reactions from her children. A distraught Nate (Peter Krause) drips with contempt, while diplomatic David says the timing is just bad. Pouty Claire (Lauren Ambrose) can't believe her mother would try to replace the late Nathaniel (Richard Jenkins) so suddenly. But as Claire embarks on a fanciful tour of the afterlife, her departed father tells her that her hang-ups about the impending nuptials are her own problem. While wandering around the great beyond, Claire encounters a variety of deceased characters -- including, to her surprise, ex-boyfriend Gabe (Eric Balfour) and her own recently aborted child, who's being cared for by Lisa herself. Whether Claire's wanderings are a dream or a visitation, one thing's for certain: Lisa really is dead. Nate receives a fateful phone call confirming that her nearly unidentifiable body has been discovered. Unaware of the news, his siblings reluctantly attend their mother's wedding while Nate drinks himself into a stupor and instigates a bar brawl. Bloody and broken, he nearly drunk-drives to his own death, but instead he turns to the one person he's been fleeing from all season: Brenda. Originally broadcast June 1, 2003, on HBO, "I'm Sorry, I'm Lost" marked season three, episode 13 of the made-for-cable drama. In addition to the show's typical corpse-of-the-week opening, a second white title card eventually appears to announce the death of "Lisa Kimmel Fisher, 1973-2003." ~ Brian J. (By the way, the episode's title refers to a highly cathartic experience for both Lorelai and Rory). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

In the months since Atticus' wife was killed in a car accident caused by his artist son Scott (Paul Kersey), the boy has ached for his father's forgiveness. Alas, though he still loves his son, Atticus is by nature taciturn and distant, and is unable to reach out to the grieving Scott. Upon discovering that his father has kept the wreckage of the "death car" on his ranch, the confused Scott decides that no closure is possible, whereupon he returns to the dusty Mexican village that has long been his home. Later, Atticus receives word that Scott has committed suicide--and upon arriving in Mexico, it is his turn to suffer the pangs of guilt, thanks to the relentless remonstrations of Scott's girlfriend Renata (Lisa Zane). But nothing is quite what Renata makes it out to be, as Atticus discovers to his astonishment upon hearing a cache of "audio letters" recorded by Scott just before his death. A delicate blend of domestic drama and "whodunit", Missing Pieces debuted February 6, 2000, on CBS. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Meanwhile, Chen (Ming-Na) is worried about Carter's (Noah Wyle) precarious mental condition; and after attending his father's funeral, Greene (Anthony Edwards) tries to mend fences with his estranged daughter (Yvonne Zima).
