The penchant for supernatural phenomena in films and elsewhere takes a ribbing in this well-wrought comedy divided into three tales about the paranormal. In the first story, a shy young clerk bravely accepts the blame for a mistake made by a co-worker, and immediately is crowned by a halo. After a few right-on barbs about bureaucracy and other matters, the clerk succumbs and lets his boss know that he did not make the mistake -- and promptly loses his halo. In the second story, a driver runs into a hearse by accident, wakes up the supposedly "dead" man in the coffin, who then reviles him because now he has to live without his pension. In the last tale, a wife deceives her jealous husband by clever use of a mindreader. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi
