Mikaela has been thinking all sorts of thoughts about her high-school teacher, romantic thoughts, erotic thoughts, and downright sexual thoughts. What's more, she has been transforming those thoughts into essays which she hands in to him. Of course, his name isn't used in them, so perhaps he doesn't know. Then again, maybe he does. The teacher, in turn, is using the girl's stories as the basis for what he does with the women he picks up on a regular basis. When one of the women he has picked up winds up murdered, Mikaela suspects that her teacher may have killed her. At the same time, she has the uneasy feeling that someone outside her household is watching her just a little too closely for comfort. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi

This international thriller is allegedly based on a true incident in which Israeli secret agents bearing Lebanese passports killed a Moroccan guest worker living in Sweden because they believed he was a Palestinian terrorist. In the story, Hamilton (Stellan Skarsgard), a Swedish naval officer, is recruited by his country's secret service to investigate the suspicious killing of an expert on Middle Eastern affairs. When he discovers that the killer was probably Israeli, he is officially taken off the case. Being a persistent fellow, he refuses to take the hint, and travels to Lebanon to follow up on his leads. This stirs up a real hornets nest, leading to his having a climactic confrontation with Israeli assasins when he gets back home in Sweden. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi

Based on the controversial theatrical piece by Swedish playwright Lars Noren, Demons (Demoner) is a devastating study of a dysfunctional marriage. The combatants are Ewa Froling and Lars Green, who consider the day wasted if they can't viciously tear into one another. Green hopes for a respite when his in-laws announce that they plan to visit, but the would-be guests, anticipating a battle royal, decide not to show up. Desperate for human companionship other than his hated wife, Green invites a neighboring couple, Pia Oscarsson and Bjorn Granath, over for a few drinks. What follows makes Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf look like The Donna Reed Show. Even if you survive the film's ceaseless barrage of verbal recriminations and physical humiliations, you will not be totally prepared for Demons' grim climax. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

In the final episode of the Star Wars saga, Han Solo (Harrison Ford) emerges intact from the carbonite casing in which he'd been sealed in The Empire Strikes Back. The bad news is that Solo, together with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), is prisoner to the grotesque Jabba the Hutt. But with the help of the charismatic Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams), our heroes and our heroine manage to escape. The next task is to rid the galaxy of Darth Vader (body by David Prowse, voice by James Earl Jones) and the Emperor (Ian McDiarmid), now in command of a new, under-construction Death Star. On the forest moon Endor, the good guys enlist the help of a feisty bunch of bear-like creatures called the Ewoks in their battle against the Empire. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

This drama is taken from two novel's by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Selma Lageroef. Charlotte (Ingrid Janbell) is a young country woman who is fiercely independent with an appreciation for humor. While living with her uncle the Vicar (Gunnar Bjoernstrand), she falls for his assistant, religious zealot Karl-Artur (Lars Green). Charlotte meets with the disapproval of Karl-Artur's haughty and possessive mother (Gunnel Broestroem), who drives a wedge between the two that causes Charlotte to consider marrying the country squire Schagerstroem (Sven Wolter). Green plays the role of the intense, romantic fanatic without resorting to some of the more stereotypical aspects of popular public figures who profess religion but fall far from the grace of God. Janbell's performance is riveting. ~ Dan Pavlides, Rovi
