A woman discovers becoming attracted to the wrong man can have deadly consequences in this tense erotic thriller. In this action thriller, Nick Adams, an agent for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms, goes undercover to enter a prison run by the tyrannical but efficient warden, Pike. He does this after his partner is killed doing undercover work in the same prison. The prison presents a harsh environment and fighting between inmates is rampant. Luckily, Adams was trained to fight in the Marines and he can take on any of them. But then his nemesis Jimmy Wong, a prominent mob leader, enters the facility. There the crooked wheeler-dealer has set up a gun-running arrangement with prison officials who let him have the run of the place. Wong uses this to exact his revenge on Adams. Action ensues, culminating in a prison break where the two fight it out while hanging from a fleeing helicopter. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

Fed up with Harriet Oleson's (Katherine MacGregor) constant criticisms about her work, Laura (Melissa Gilbert) quits her schoolteaching job -- and invites Harriet to take over. Basking in the opportunity to bring culture to Walnut Grove, Harriet immediately sets up classes in French and art -- totally ignoring such necessary courses as agriculture. Apparently weary of playing victim-of-the-week, Elizabeth Montgomery goes the Joan Crawford route playing a fabulously wealthy and stupendously bored matron who is about to be divorced by her wealthy husband. Hubby conveniently expires while dallying with his mistress. The upshot is that Ms. Montgomery is made executive vice president of the boat-building business that she'd helped her husband establish. Moral: Marry well, ladies, and you too can become a CEO. Basically a very slight TV movie, Jennifer: A Woman's Story is bloated way beyond its worth into a Ross Hunter-type sudser; the British TV series upon which it was based, The Foundation, was more austere, and frankly more enjoyable. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
The longest (26-1/2 hours), most expensive ($25 million) and most complicated (four directors, five producers, five cinematographers, almost 100 speaking parts, several hundred extras) project made for television up to that time, Centennial was shown in two- and three-hour installments over a period of four months. An adaptation of James Michener's best-selling novel, it told the story of the settling of the American West by looking at the founding of the fictional town of Centennial, Colorado, from the settling of the area in the late 18th century to the present. Emmy-nominated for film editing and art direction, it boasts of sterling performances from Richard Chamberlain as frontiersman Alexander McKeag, Robert Conrad as the French-Canadian trapper Pasquinel, and a surprisingly powerful performance from former football star Alex Karras as compassionate but iron-willed immigrant farmer Hans Brumbaugh. ~ Brian Gusse, All Movie Guide
