A couple's marital experimentation threatens to destroy their relationship in this erotic drama. Monica (Kira Reed) and Mac (Dan Frank) are a newlywed couple with a ferocious sexual appetite and a taste for erotic adventure. Monica has an exhibitionistic streak, and Mac enjoys voyeurism, so after some discussion, the couple decide to introduce another man to the mix, who will make love to Monica while Mac watches. They place a discreet ad in a personals column and eventually meet Sinclair (Moe Justini), who not only seems eager to join in, he's willing to pay Mac for the privilege. While Mac is in favor of this, bringing money into the formula bothers Monica, who now feels as if Mac is her pimp rather than her husband, and soon the three players find themselves trapped in a maelstrom of jealousy and betrayal. Director Paul Thomas was a star in over 100 adult motion pictures before moving into directing in the mid-1980s; The Price of Desire was his 172nd directorial credit. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Released in the US on cable television, Blue Ice stars Michael Caine as an older, tireder version of his 1960s "Harry Palmer" character (his name, in fact, is Harry Anders). An M16 agent-turned-nightclub owner, Caine is a man of steadfast loyalties. Thus he takes it personally when several friends from his espionage days are mysteriously killed. Caine investigates on his own, which brings him in very close proximity with enigmatic consul's wife Sean Young. Befitting the fact that Caine's character is a jazz fancier, Blue Ice boasts an evocative musical score by Michael Kamen, of Lethal Weapon and Die Hard fame. Watch for jazz great Bobby Short and an unbilled Bob Hoskins. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Mitchell Leisen utilizes his stylistic pizzazz to enliven this romantic comedy that proves the old adage "opposites attract" -- but only after three or four reels. Claudette Colbert is Katherine Grant, an upper-crust fashion photographer who has a gang of admirers snapping at her heels. When her vindictive editor tries to teach her a lesson for her snobbishness by giving her an assignment photographing lower-class workers digging a tunnel, she falls for Jim Ryan (Fred MacMurray). Ryan is also attracted to her, so when she leaves her camera tripod in the tunnel, Ryan obligingly returns it to her. When Ryan returns to the job site, he is ribbed by his co-workers. Ryan loses his head and gets into a fight and is subsequently suspended from his job. Katherine, feeling guilty about Ryan being suspended from his job (and also looking for an excuse to have him around), hires him as her assistant. But in his new job, Ryan starts to put the make on one of Katherine's flirtatious models, Darlene (June Havoc). Katherine must now find a way to overcome her superior attitude and make her true feelings known to Ryan. ~ Paul Brenner, Rovi
