Having watched the movie, calling this a romantic comedy could elicit a smirk. It might be best categorized as a light comedy. There were a few funny moments and a few awkward moments. Blockbuster doesn't display a rating, but given that you know who is what ahead of time, the film could easily pass with a PG-13 rating. Since there aren't any subtitle options and the movie opened with no English subtitles, it seemed like Blockbuster was renting a foreign movie without English translation. However, it wasn't until two and a half minutes into the movie that it was obvious that the English subtitles were burned into the film. The subtitles suffered from a moderate level of grammatical and spelling errors. Additionally, lyrics for some of the songs were subtitled only in Chinese. For a movie that was released in 1995, the picture quality was very sharp and clear. The audio is in stereo - maybe. As for extras, there's only a synopsis in Chinese. Lightly recommended.
