hard to read the subtitles because they are not encoded but rather in the movie itself. When the movie goes to a very bright or dark seine the titles are unlegible

Well, I think some people do not like it becasue their expection was vey different from what this movie is. This is a fantasy love story depicting the complicated feelings among people and also make us wonder our social standards. The director Tsui Hark did a great job in translating an old chinese fairy tale into a beautifully shot sophisticated drama. it is an excellet. But, it is absolutely NOT a Kung Fu movie to start.

An older Chinese film with some cheesy effects, but a classic story with some great actors, including the incomparable Maggie Cheung.
