Killer Kid (1994)
Member Rating:
This French drama, set in 1986, focuses upon the friendship between two Arab boys, one a normal boy raised in France, and the other a trained assassin on a mission for the fundamentalist organization that trained him. Laid has been indoctrinated and trained in a secret guerrilla training camp. Though only eleven, he is more a holy warrior than he is a little boy. Because he is so serious and calm, Laid is chosen to perform an assassination in Paris. Though he speaks fluent French, he needs to know more about how little French boys behave. Karim, who was raised in Paris, is forcibly borrowed from his father. Karim is the antithesis of Laid. He is fun loving, Westernized, and enthusiastic. Laid is intrigued and they become friends. The friendship changes history when the assassination plan fails in a surprising way. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

The real title of this film is "The Boy from Lebanon," not "Killer Kid." It's a true story of a Lebanese boy who was sold into terrorism by his family. He was trained to kill, denied a normal childhood, and sent to France to assinate their president. To learn how to fit in, he was paired with a Muslim boy raised in Paris, but they became close friends and he realized that he was being used. He killed his captors and saved his friend's life. This is a powerful story, well-told. This film will haunt me for a long time, but I'm also inspired by its message. Highly recommended.

I found this scarey to say the least. It's difficult enough to grow up in today's world without the added pressure of being set up to be a walking grenade. I believe pedafila is one of the worst crimes you could committ, Moving away from the sexual aspect and taking it a full 180 down a path of destruction and hatred "because someone told me that's the way it is"..and "free choice" is denied forever..how does society make a change to these children..?
