I'm just imagining what would have happened if someone had called me while I was watching this: "Oh, the movies? Sorry, I'm busy watching the WEIRDEST FILM EVER. Yeah, maybe next time." Which is to say, you keep watching, even though for (I'd say) at least 75% of it you're totally lost. And for someone of my age watching this film now, that nude shot of k.d. lang is almost creepy, like seeing a college professor you really respect completely nekkid. Anyways, might be a nice film to watch on a cold, rainy/snowy night with a fire, if your aim is to relax (get ready for about five renditions of "Barefoot"...) One thing I'll give it over other films: very interesting to anyone with an interest in lighting; the lighting designer went CRAZY in a way that's fun to watch.

...storyline but it abruptly ended, seemed to end too soon. Something missing.

Good low budget, independent film about 2 emotionally needy women in a small alaskan mining town who help each other to face the hurts within. One a young orphan, the other older and scarred by the holocaust. A brief nude shot of k.d. lang is an added plus! Features k.d. lang's song Barefoot which is hauntingly beautiful. DVD includes k.d. lang interview and commentaries.
