the story line was very bad. to learn about the history, this is not a movie to see. I even looked at the extras with the interview with the dirictor and he was making the movie for enjoyment. I found no joy or did I learn anything from this film.

While it's definitely not a "mainstream" sort of movie, there's a lot to be learned about Armenia and it's beautiful history and architecture, in addition to watching the kind of unexpected development of the characters. I enjoyed it, and felt that you need to watch the whole movie in order to absorb all the subtle details. There's definitely a meaning behind it all, although it might be a little more difficult to decipher than more "typical" movies.
