Maybe the worst movie I can remember. I can't believe that Van Johnson had anything to do with it.

Decent plot, +/- acting, terrible, effects. The Germans did not fly Spitfires nor the Brits Messerschmidts

OK, the Dunkirk scenes were up to par if you can believe the bullets from strafing planes turn 45 degrees after being fired, but that was the only thing about this Italian-made disaster that wasn't jaw-dropping laughable. How about German Me 109s painted to represent British Spitfires, and Spitfires painted to represent Me 109s!!! It's all about the British, but there was nary a British accent in the whole movie. Somehow, all the main characters seemed like they had just come from shooting a spaghetti western and couldn't quite make the transition. Van Johnson must have been hard up for cash to lend his image to this turkey. Don't waste your time with this film unless you are desparate to laugh.
