Synopsis of Las Noches Del Califas

This is a melodramatic rendition of a changing relationship between Macho Prieto (Hector Suarez), the domineering owner of a nightclub called "Las Noches del Califas," and Hugo (Manuel Capetillo), a younger man. Prieto takes a liking to Hugo when he first meets him and invites him to his nightclub. Hugo arrives with Eva on his arm, but that does not last long once Prieto takes an interest in her. Complications arise when Prieto's need to control those around him becomes overpowering, changing himself as well as Eva and Hugo. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide
