The Web of the Law (1923)

The Web of the Law (1923)
The adopted son (he claimed) of legendary showman Buffalo Bill Cody, Ranger Bill Miller starred in half-a-dozen very low-budget oaters released to rural neighborhood theaters in the early to mid 1920s. The Web of the Law, about a lawman going undercover as a rancher to catch a gang of cattle rustlers, is very representative of Miller's work. Produced, directed and written by the Gibson brothers, Tom and Victor, the film was made for mere pennies and did nothing to further Ranger Bill Miller's chances in the increasingly overcrowded field of independent westerns. The former stunt rider left the screen in 1925. ~ Hans J. Wollstein, Rovi
