This cinematic oddity toes the line between French art film and exploitation horror; it's somewhat hypnotizing but never quite compelling. It cuts variably between scenes of the real past, perceived dreams and memories of the protagonist, and contemporary events which are themselves often surreal and absurd, and it takes nearly the entire movie to make much sense out of any of them. "Lips of Blood" never asks the audience to engage emotionally or invest sympathy with any of the characters, but rather it facilitates a kind of detached voyeurism. The final scenes after the explanation are narratively disappointing and unnecessary, but the bulk of "Lips of Blood" is very watchable. It is difficult to "enjoy" but nearly impossible to pull yourself away from.

I would say you really have to be a diehard vampire fan to want to see this--and a fan of French vampire movies on top of that. Most interesting are the appearances of the vampire twins and the mysterious vampire beauty the protagonist is obsessed with finding. Often slow and with little drama or true horror, the film ultimately is not worth the trouble unless you are driven to see every vampire movie ever made.

It was very poor quality. I didn't enjoy it at all.
