Graphic portrayal of the often hopeless fight to overcome opiate addiction combined with an Excellent scene w/Bowie in concert. Director and writer not afraid to show the real side of addiction. Excellent rehab movie follows life of a very young addict living in Berlin projects is another environment vs.flawed individual theory. Shows how the loneliness of life for teens lead to drug abuse. portrays our isolation from one another. A subject often present in Bowie's songs, which play tho' movie. Expect real-life heroin addiction, ignorance and helplessness of parent on issue,no soft pedal, not for the family unless already addicted.

This is a remarkably well presented story of teenagers growing up in West Berlin, Germany during the 1980's. Christiane F. is the main character and it's the story of her struggle with a heroin addiction. I would recommend this movie for a more mature audience, because of the drug use and references throughout the movie. Soundtrack was done by David Bowie.

A very well cast, acted and directed tale that is just to gritty and believable for me to enjoy. I was moved but I would not watch it again.
