Onscreen scalpings, vampire bats, homosexual gangrape, self-immolation, abuse of corpses . . . what more could you ask for? Tomas Milian is actually a badass for a change as he wanders Jesus-like through a town filled with creepy and sinister criminals and terrible citizens. This movie was thoroughly entertaining, even if it has absolutely nothing to do with the Franco Nero Django flick.

While it is an unusual Western, I can't say I was entertained. It starts out rather well, but then for me just runs out of steam and interest. It certainly was ahead of its time. One of the lead villains reminds me of Burl Ives.
