A man suspects someone is trying to ruin his life, unaware that his nemesis is watching at all times, in this edgy thriller from writer and director Randall Cole. James (Nick Stahl) and Amy (Mia Kirshner) are a well-to-do couple living in Toronto; he works for a successful advertising agency, and she is finishing up her graduate work. James and Amy seem to be happy, but not everything is as it appears; James is having an affair, and he has an ugly history as a bully. James and Amy begin noticing strange things are happening in and around their home -- a CD of songs they don't like has appeared in the car stereo, the same songs have been downloaded to his computer, and their cat has been replaced by a kitty who looks almost identical but clearly don't know or like them. James suspects someone is toying with them, and he thinks it may be Bill (Devon Sawa), who he knew from his high school days and has cause to hold a grudge against him. But matters go from troubling to dangerous when Amy disappears and circumstances suggest she's the victim of foul play by James, and there's a twist to the tail neither James or Amy know about -- the person who has targeted them has installed cameras throughout their home, and is observing them as their lives unravel. 388 Arletta Avenue received its world premiere at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
