Interesting historical drama centered around King Christian VII, his wife Queen Caroline Matilda, and physician/lover Struensee. Sometimes sluggish, but beautiful landscape shots and rich color. Perhaps because it's such a non-well known particle of history it's hard to draw viewers in, but I enjoyed it nonetheless as a former history teacher for it's own historical value.

Little-known story of what happened when the sister of King George III of England married King Christian VII of Denmark. I'd looked forward to this film, but somehow the pairing of actors Mads Mikkelsen and Alicia Vikander didn't work for me. There seemed to be no chemistry between them. Another problem is that I still remember Mikkelsen as one of the meatcutters in the black comedy "The Green Butchers."

I found the two previous reviews helpful; however, this being a foreign movie, the synopsis doesn't state if it's in English or just subtitled.
