I love Jillian and own many of her workouts. This format is similar to her 30-Day Shred, featuring her 3-2-1 method (3 min strength, 2 min cardio, 1 min abs), but this is more intense than 30-Day Shred. I suggest beginners go with 3DS first, then move to Ripped in 30. Ripped has 4 workouts, which increase in intensity over the 4-week period. This is typical Jillian -- working you hard right from the start and never letting up. She builds on moves and does not repeat anything, so she gets very creative (and a little crazy). Jillian does offer modifications, and I use them when I need to. If you're more advanced, you could probably rotate these within a given week or stack them for a more intense session. You will sweat! If you have never worked out with Jillian before, you will want to try her out because her style is in-your-face. I love it, but it's not for everyone. Lots of chatter on Ripped in 30, and she does not do much exercising -- more coaching.
