In an era when newspapers are becoming increasingly obsolete, director Andrew Rossi offers a glimpse behind the scenes of the newsroom that has kept America informed for generations yet now struggles to remain relevant as more readers turn to the Internet to stay informed on current events. With their reputations on the line and the Internet Sword of Damocles hanging over their heads, the editors and writers at The New York Times battle accusations of inaccuracy, and embrace blogging as a means of retaining readers who might otherwise allow their longtime subscriptions to expire. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Newspapers have played a pivotal role in my career. Even with my daily perusal of news sites on the internet, I still have an emotional tie to the newsroom. This gripping documentary examines how a journalistic giant is coping with formidable online rivals. "Page One" is a must see for all well-informed citizens and practitioners alike!

Fun to see NYT reporters and execs, so used to telling us all what we need to know and what to think about it, faced with the reality that they are not as smart as they think. Very well made doc, watchable, with interesting characters struggling with realities of new media, layoffs, and dwindling audience and advertising. Media junkies will enjoy this.

If you read newspapers or follow the news closely you should see this film. It is an interesting look at what the future of journalism may turn out to be. Will there be a NY Times in the future? Can any newspaper survive? Or will all serious news be reported as blogs on the internet. In a democracy such as ours there is a need to know what is going on in the world. This movie looks at the challenges ahead to achieving that goal.
