If this is historically accurate it has shown me WW1 era to which I was previously uninterested. History should be taught this way. The women of Downton show the greatest change during and after the war. Especially Edith who matured greatly over a couple of years. Of course, the best part of the show is the relationship between Bates and Anna. Excellent acting, sets, and cinematography. This is definitely not those dull BBC shows PBS aired when I was a kid.

O still get confused a little with so many characters but this is one of the best TV series ever -- great acting, writing, costumes, & scenery/setting. Highly entertaining and fun.
