Vacationing college students fight a shiver of sharks after traveling to an island getaway and being surrounded by the ferocious man-eaters in this sun-soaked shocker from director David R. Ellis (Final Destination 2, Snakes on a Plane). The moment Sara (Sara Paxton) and her friends arrive at her parent's Louisiana lake house, the party is in full gear. Everyone is swimming in the salt-water lake and having a blast until Malik (Sinqua Walls) loses his arm in what initially appears to be a tragic wake-boarding mishap. Determined to get him to the nearest hospital as quickly as possible, Malik's friends fire up the speedboat and hit the water full throttle. It isn't until they're far from shore that the reality of the situation finally dawns on them -- the lake is teeming with hungry sharks, and a tiny speedboat isn't about to stop them from getting their next meal. Suddenly, a severed arm is the least of their worries. As the feeding frenzy begins, Sara and her pals realize that their only hope for survival is to swim for their lives and reach the beach without becoming fish food. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

The half-star rating isn't really fair, as the disc I received was completely unplayable -- froze numerous times even during FF scans looking for new point to resume play. Total waste of a rental and bowl of popcorn...

This was your basic B movie. Kind of cheap and weak plot. The idea behind it was good but it fell flat for me when it went outside the reality aspect. They should have stuck strictly with the bull shark as it was the only one of the sharks known to frequent fresh water. By adding the other sharks it just became kind of lame to me.

It was an ok movie, but it was no "Jaws" I'll tell you that much. Glad I didn't waste money & see it in the theathers or 3D for that matter.
