I've only read one Kurt Wallander, the first, The Faceless Killers. I saw Series 1 and was totally amazed at how well Kenneth Branagh brings Kurt to life. This episode was much better than the book because Mankell had too long a stretch of rambling before Kurt solved the case, but there is no blank stretch in the episode. Can't wait for Series 3.

"You just drive through life." Kurt Wallander's father, in a rare moment of lucidity, tells his son to ease up. Easier said than done. Wallander struggles with spirit-crushing crises and nearly cracks. But when all is darkest, dawn starts to break. These 3 Season 2 episodes whiz by, and you're glued to your seat. With Kenneth Branagh and his stellar supporting cast, this mystery series approaches perfection.

This was listed as a Blue Ray DVD, but in actuality, it turned out to be a standard DVD.
