Part of the Eyes on the Prize documentary series, which chronicles the American civil rights struggle, Eyes on the Prize: Fighting Back (1957-1962) discusses the 1954 Brown vs. Board of Education Supreme Court decision, which allowed black students to attend formerly all-white schools, and the ensuing struggle for power between the Southern states and the United States government. When Southern-elected officials rejected the Supreme Court ruling, Southern black students seemed to have nowhere left to turn for assistance.
