They are bad by 1930/40's standards. Not really all that bad by today's standards. The first one was pretty lame. The "bad" girl was small pox carrier who did not get treated. It was a public message film. Try to imagine "Reefer Maddness" on tranquilizers (sp?). I was expecting more of a hard boiled attitude. I wanted more blood thirsty gun molls. A couple of disappointing films.
