Good natured fun, enjoyable for the whole family. It's very well cast, Nick Palatis is terrific. The special effects are reasonably good. I enjoyed it.

I loved it and so did my kids (12 and 5 1/2). It was clean and actually about ghosts instead of demons or voodoo. I thought it was in good taste, funny and just plain fun to watch. I also liked the fact that Dafney wasn't portrayed as a "Barbie Doll". I wasn't fond of the way they dressed Velma after the "transformation", though... too much cleavage, especially for her age in the movie. Other than that, I liked it much better than the other "real life" scooby movies.

Don't expect to get a Gellar/Prinze/Lillard/Cardellini quality in this movie, it is a "CN" movie. However, except for Freddy NOT being blonde and ignoring "A Pup Named Scooby-Doo", it is an enjoyable family movie for a prequel to everything Scooby. While predictable, borrowing from many of their future adventures, and even "The Breakfast Club", it brings back the old feeling of Saturday morning campiness for the older fan, and shows the clues for the younger family members to try to figure it out as the story goes along. Being a fan, anything without Scrappy is great, objectively a B+ comparing the TV production value versus the theatrical releases. Kaitlyn "Kate" Melton plays a charming Daphne, Hayley Kiyoko is convincing as Velma, Nick Palatas is almost as good as Lillard as Shaggy, Frank Welker as the voice of Scooby ('nuff said, can't do better than that), and Robbie Amell plays a "Freddie" who has yet to take charge, but starts coming into his own near the end.
