Mad Men star Jon Hamm headlines this unusual low-budget mystery-thriller, as Detective Tom Adkins, a man haunted relentlessly by the disappearance of his ten-year-old son, Tommy, Jr. No leads immediately turn up in that case, but he does receive an early-morning phone call that draws him to the mangled and mutilated remains of a young boy slain 50 years prior. Tom takes on the case in an attempt to find absolution, and a second tale evolves, set 50 before, involving a man named Matthew Wakefield (Josh Lucas) and his son John. The baffling similarities between the Wakefield case and Tommy Jr.'s mysterious fate push Tom to the brink of sanity and ultimately lead him on a collision course with fate. Gradually, one step at a time, Tom stumbles onto the horrifying truth about what happened to his boy. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

This is an awesome movie that you have to watch at least twice. A low budget mystery, thriller with a fantastic cast: Jon Hamm and Josh Lucas could not have been better cast--at times they almost look like brothers, Not to reveal too much but Jon Hamm plays a detective in the present day whose son is kidnapped. Josh Lucas portrays a young man with 3 boys, one of which gets kidnapped and the crime is not solved for fifty years or more. The disappearance of Josh Lucas's son is very similar to that of Jon Hamm and it is up to Jon Hamm to put the two together. As the movie developes you find yourself saying "I know who did it, then have to eat your words as another suspect pops up....Truly an outstanding way for plot twists. Its a movie you must pause if you ever get up and leave it or you will miss something important, even that which seems completely irrevelent. This is a MUST see if you like the combination of mystery, thriller and a real love for one's son.

This movie may have been considered a "B" movie, but the details, acting and story line are excellent and it should be considered an "A" movie. It was interesting, compelling and thought provoking. It kept us in wonderment and suspense throughout the movie wondering "who did it". Don't pass it up just because you don't recognize it. RENT IT! It really is worth it.

This Is It...get the snacks and liquids together and take care of personal business while you're up...I still have burn marks in my clothes from where the mental rivets went in and held me spell bound...it's been a long time since I have seen anything where I wanted to jump ahead but was afraid of what I'd find...the Blu-ray doesn't come until June 29th...so you'll have to wait like me to have you own copy...this is a classic and I'd dare say in the Hitchcock mode of putting it to you...so you're afraid to move when it's over since you might disturb the atmosphere...Hitchcock has a challenger..(you can now inhale again)....kudo's to everyone on this movie...how it only rated two stars on the master, I don't know...the "V" woman is in this also, she actually does exist and she doesn't spare any change in the way she emotes...see for yourself....
