I don't know why this is getting good reviews. Maybe it was reviewed on a Sy Fy Channel scale? This might be one of the best films ever produced by the Sy Fy (Sci Fi) network, but it pales in comparison to most straight to DVD low budget horror/sci fi flicks. The Wyvern CGI is fairly lame as the actors perfunctorily read their lines to create an atmosphere of over-all boredom. The scenery looks great, but when you'd rather look at the trees than follow the story, that's not good. For true hardcore SyFy films fans only.

Recently purchased this in a 3-pack from Half-Price Books, and enjoyed this film. Giant flying dragon gets released from his polar ice tomb (due to that dog-goned global warming), and sets about hemming in and feasting on a small Alaskan town's inhabitants. Good effects, well thought-out plot line, chills and thrills, scares and terror abound. Funny moment: trying to define their attacker, one captive thinks it's the dragon from Rev 12 in the Bible. Hillbilly yokel thinks its a Wyvern from Norse mythology. With no discussion, captives decide he's right! LOL! Fun movie to watch. Blood and guts, profanity, dragon eating people, people attacking dragon. (Or Wyvern, excuse me.) Fun to watch with popcorn and a Coke. Al Gore gave it a BIG thumbs-up for its environmental message. [No Wyverns were injured during the making of this film.]
