This is a extremely well performed, modern production. Given the exceptional strength of the performances, production design is largely irrelevant. However, if you like your opera seria in modern dress, you'll love this. Also included on the second disc is a film of about an hour, which explores the opera in some detail. I found this helpful, as the motivations of certain characters, such as Vitellia and Sesto, for me require some exposition.
