Longtime friendships are put to the ultimate test when a dying woman summons her best friends from college into the wilderness for a four-day camping trip, and everyone quickly discovers that they haven't exactly been told the whole truth about her current condition. Lucy (Missi Pyle) has always been obese, and now that her health has taken a turn for the worse, she wants to spend her last days with the estranged college social group that helped her through one of the most difficult periods of her entire life. Upon learning that Lucy is on her deathbed, her loyal friends all rush to Montana in order to be by her side for one last weekend together. Immediately upon arriving, however, it's glaringly obvious to all of Lucy's friends that something isn't right. Her condition is a far cry from what she made it out to be in her desperate messages, and as tensions begin to rise Lucy realizes that the people standing before her today simply aren't the same people whom she remembered so fondly from college. With no modern conveniences to fall back on as the reunited group begins an arduous four-day hike into the wilderness, everyone's deepest fears and demons gradually claw their way to the surface, leaving Lucy to wonder whether her "final wish" was truly the brilliant idea she initially thought it to be. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I liked this movie a lot. It was funny and yet believable. All the characters were so different and interesting. Definitely worth watching.

I like this movie. There were some parts that were very realistic. Some parts were funny but the movie had a message to it.

This movie requires patience to get to the heart of the story. It takes almost half the movie to see where this movie is headed and how brave it is. When a group of friends is removed from all their normal supports, they cannot hide from who they are, good or bad. The former fat girl and hanger-on who is now skinny hopes to connect to the friends of her youth who she looked up to. Now that she is thin and self-realized, she sees her friends in a new, unflattering light, brought out by a 3 day hike. It's not much fun to watch this because what you see is a bunch of whiny people making each other miserable. If you missed the point, it's baldly laid out at the last meal. I do think the end was wrapped up a little too neatly. I would have preferred this to have a more realistic ending, and thus a darker edge. To those having trouble watching this, stick with it, you should find it worth it. A drive that starts in a barren landscape and ends in a scenic vista.
