A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All! is a little disappointing. I was really excited to see it, but when it was over, I felt it just didn't deliver. I know he was going for a replica of those old time Christmas Specials from the 50's and 60's, but it didn't work for me. The fun in watching Stephen is his wit and comedy. In this special, he relied too heavily on the guests for entertainment portion. We all know Stephen's guests are never the most funny part of the show, it's Stephen himself challenging his guests. Sure there are a couple of good laughs, but mostly it's just singing with a variety of current musicians. Maybe that's why I didn't like it, I think music these days is really boring and disposable. I don't like the guests or their music. So maybe if you're into the musical lineup, you'll like it more - It's just not for me. Which is a shame, I wanted to love it. I'll have to go pull out my copy of the Best of the Colbert report instead.

Well. Isn’t this awkward? I got the Video because it had Christmas in it’s name and Willie Nelson was in it. I was in the kitchen while the previews were on and even from there, I could tell it “wasn’t my thing”. I watched it. I’d not judge it sight unseen. If you like Colbert, you may like this video. If you don’t, it will waste your time.
