I had seen the series when it first aired and had memories of it being a hoot, especially with the spineless robot, bemused captain, and the gorgeous girls. On recent viewing it didn't come off as being quite so hilarious as I had remembered, but it was still fun to watch. It japes Star Wars, Star Trek and Lost In Space with its characters and plots and probably had greater comic impact when it originally appeared much closer in time to the beginning of those series. I would rate it clearly ahead of the "Lost In Space" series, particularly since it does not take itself seriously. Each of the eight episodes improved somewhat over the one before as the writers seemed to be getting a handle on what worked. Quark and his goofy crew, in spite of themselves, managed to save the galaxy several times before the series ended.

I remembered this series as a kid and found it fun to watch with my kids who thought it was stupid but fun to watch also. Adults will enjoy the pariodies of Star Wars and Star Trek. If you like campy old tv shows then this is worth the time, but if you dont then don't waste your time.
