Synopsis of The Gleam

Award-winning filmmaker Sridhar Ranganath takes the helm for this twisted film noir comedy concerning a homeless actor and the mad scientist who takes him in while conducting secret experiments aimed at bringing the dead back to life. Max was a timid young actor in search of a warm bed to sleep in. But while nefarious scientist Dr. Zensky offered Max shelter in his time of need, the kind gesture doesn't come without a hefty price tag. Recently, Dr. Zensky has been using animals to test his technique of restoring life to the dead. He believes that he's finally made a serious breakthrough as well, though in order to be sure he'll have to conduct a test on a live human being. In exchange for putting a roof over Max's head, Dr. Zensky convinces the desperate actor to set out in search of just such a test subject. Meanwhile, as Max takes his search to the streets, the scheming scientist advises a manipulative wife in gaining psychological control over her wealthy yet mentally ill husband. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
