Under the alias "Tom Nash", fugitive Richard Kimble (David Janssen) goes to work as a bodyguard for self-made millionaire George Forster (Richard Anderson), who has returned to his home town after an absence of several years. Despite the adulation heaped upon him, Forster has many enemies in town; indeed, one person hates him enough enough to mail a death threat.
