As originally conceived, designed and shot for IMAX theaters, this ecological chronicle travels into the aquatic realm and depicts it as the stage of a nonstop struggle for survival of the fittest, among thousands of species of marine life - both against one another and against homo-sapiens, the most aggressive of all predators. The program assesses the economic and cultural legacy of the world's seas, and pays homage to the attempts of many conservationists to save its precious resources. Co-directors Steve McNicholas and Luke Cresswell shot the footage off the coast of South Africa, lending it a not-so-subtle aura of exotic visual splendor. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

I really liked "Wild Ocean (2008)." The cinematography of this documentary is rather beautiful, rich, breathtaking, and spectacular. The musical thematic aspect of this documentary tied in rather well with the cinematography of this documentary. The documentary left me wanting to actually be there on the coast of South Africa seeing the ocean life for what it was actually, naturally intended to be for many years. It also teaches the viewer a lesson of why it is especially important to preserve ocean, wild life for what it is naturally intended to be and to stop disturbing the eco-systerm of marine life. The only aspect of this movie that had fallen short was the narration of this documentary. This documentary relied too much on the visual scenes and not enough narration to describe what is actually occurring in the eco-system of marine life and the consequences of disturbing the eco-system of marine life. Overall, I have to say that this documentary is DEFINITELY WORTH THE WATCH.

Not worth the watch. Not much color and a waste of Blue Ray Technology.
