We, surfers, owe a lot to these pioneers: Shaun, Rabbit, MR, Ian, M. Tomson. They went to Hawaii and dominated the locals. However, the black shorts should be arrested for their gang-like tactics against visiting surfers. Aloha my tail. Aussies rule!!! And...for me as an American to say this, that takes balls. If you surf or don't surf, you have to see this movie. Eddie Rothman is a hoodlum who acts like Ollie North during the Contra hearings. He knew what was going. Don't let the illiterate idiot fool you. Bugs, you're the best for bustin' down the door.
it was a really good story, growing up on the north shore around the same era,
i could relate to it. exept for glorifying 4 haole's and the fact that alot of major hawaiian
surfers were'nt mentioned, other than a footnote, it was a good movie about surfing
in the 70's. they don't even mention bertleman but show him a few times. i suggest
this movie to outsiders thinking of going to hawaii to surf - have respect.
OK, so Aussies are assholes - who needs 2 hours of it? Some sweet footage from back in the day, but most of the film is about the Austalians, and mostly them talking about how they were such assholes. Yea it's their obnoxious, racist culture, anyone who knows em knows that. But they are also great partiers, how about 2 hours of that?
