I liked it well enough. Low budget, but thats not important because the story is interesting. Finishes the Death Note story line for cinema. I guess it goes on in anemae. MUST see Death Note movies 1 and 2 first or this one will not make sense.

This movie has little to do with the plot of the first two Death Note movies and is more about creating a movie around the idea that L is the last name in the Death Note book. While this is a good addition to the Death Note series, it takes on a less suspenseful, more predictable Hollywood quality. The story takes place somewhat after the early events in "Death Note II: The Last Name". The acting and directing were good. Unlike the previous two Death Note movies, the CGI was minimal. The Audio Commentary isn't worth listening to as its two English narrators cracked sarcastic remarks throughout the movie. There's also an extra scene after the end credits. The 5.1 Dolby Surround audio option made good use of surround sound. As for extras, there's two trailers for the movie, a "Behind the Scenes & Director Interviews" featurette (19:44 min), an "Event Bonus Footage Teaser" featurette (1:52 min) and trailers for five other titles. Recommended.
