Synopsis of MLB: 1973 World Series

The Oakland A's slugger Reggie Jackson was just one of the key players who took part in this exciting world series. The Mets had Tom Seaver, Jerry Koosman and John Matlock trying hard to win the pennant for their team. Among other highlights is the last career hit by the one and only Willie Mays. Though Tom Seaver managed to strike 12 batters in eight innings, the Mets had to struggle to stay competitive. The entire 12-inning game lasted over four hours. In the end, Oakland won the series in seven games. In addition to showing many of the powerful pitchers and batters playing in this game, the viewer is treated to footage of the umpire Augie Donatelli arguing with both Yogi Berra, the Mets manager, and shortstop Bud Harrelson. ~ Elizabeth Smith, All Movie Guide
