Interesting movie. Couple of not so kid friendly scenes because of devilish appearances of the witches. Younger than 6 year olds may find those scenes horrific. Kids overall loved it. Story was entertaining even for the adults watching. We rented this just before Halloween.

I remembered seeing this movie as a kid, and rented it this past Halloween to see if it was still as scary as it was when I was a kid. It was! I loved it! As the other reviewers said, be wary of the scariness of the movie, but I saw it as a kid and wasn't scarred for life, so don't worry too much about it - my memories of the movie are more about my love of the story than the scariness.

This is a great story and Angelica Huston was great at the Grand High Witch. I love how it explains things about "witches". There is a scene where the Jim Henson effects was scary for my 8 year old. But it only last maybe 4 minutes and I knew it was coming. I came across this movie back in the early 90's when it was on HBO. I was fascinated with the concept then, just as I still am today.
