Officially an adult but locked into a perpetual phase of arrested development, an aimless twentysomething attempts to make sense of his go-nowhere life after being dumped by his girlfriend and forced to move back home with his parents. Art may still be far from mid-life, but no one can deny that he's having a crisis. When his attempts at establishing himself as a sensitive singer/songwriter fail, Art dips into his inheritance money in order to experiment with a variety of new-age therapies and hire an eccentric self-help guru. Gradually, Art begins to make sense of the dysfunctional relationship he shares with his frustrated parents, and understand the unique role he plays in his small but close-knit social circle. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

While there were some very funny scenes sprinkled throughout the movie (Art trying to hug his Mom) The majority of this film was indecipherable from a storytelling point of view. It takes us through a series of random and absurd scenarios in which Art becomes increasingly pathetic and frustrated unaided by those that should help (parents, friends, boss or impossible to believe guru). Although the angst and confusion of aimless youth comes through, the conclusion lacked any sort of catharsis and left me wondering if anything had changed or gotten better. Unsatisfying, except for an opportunity to see Robert Pattinson in a pre "Edward" role and the extras- interviews and footage of Rob and the cast goofing around. I give this a C-

If you are looking for an american comedy film, here it is not. But for English comedy, it is wonderful. The cold, could careless parents which Pattinson must work off for his role as Art, play out well. It is "coming of age meets arrested development". How could anyone not relate to the "never being able to satisfy parents while being true to ones self"and not touch all those who searched for their own meaning of life.

Quirky. A mixture of black comedy and drama - you're in for a confusing ride. If you're a part of the "lost" generation, you might actually be able to relate and truly enjoy the story; however, if you are unfamiliar with the "lost" feeling and see the younger generations as quite insane you will probably still feel the same way after watching this film, but have a little more understanding. Robert Pattinson plays his character perfectly, a quirky and unusual type, socially awkward, but someone people can relate to or maybe someone we all know. Overall, the cast was great, the story was unusual, tragic, and eye-opening. The ending was somewhat lackluster, but carried the theme of not fitting into a mold.
