Both the concept and the storyline are quite interesting. What if the gay lover of a Prince of Great Britain was discovered drowned amid a sea of drugs and booze? What if you were the last person with him, saw his body carted from his flat, and were aware he could not have fallen off his dad's yacht? This begins a tale, told mostly through 'surveillance' (the film's original title) cameras which catch much more of our daily activities than we'd like to believe. Did I mention the cast is excellent?
The story was intriguing. It was told with suspense and originality in the style and point of view. The acting was good. But, I feel because of bad editing and direction, the outcome is difficult to follow. It left me confused. I read similar remarks in reviews outside of Blockbuster also. I won't say why it is confusing because it would reveal something of the ending - that's the confusing part - the ending. Certainly not on my list of above average films.
The film opens with a statement that the film was compiled from surveillance cameras. If that's the case, the UK is one giant "Truman Show". The plot was interesting and using "surveillance" footage is a novel idea but it failed and looked cheap and silly in some places.
