Producer Julian Lennon collaborates with screenwriter/director Kim Kindersley to offer viewers a rare glimpse into a tribal culture that has endured for centuries and whose detailed creation story revolves around the most majestic mammals to swim the seven seas. Extensive underwater footage serves as the spectacular visual backdrop to ancient legends that gradually unfold to offer a fascinating glimpse into humankind's past, and a potentially dire look into our future. By exploring the connection between the so-called "mothers of the sea" and the ancient civilizations whose very culture was based on their existence, the filmmakers call upon viewers to create peace and unity on Earth by embracing every living being and recognizing that all life forms, no matter how different they may appear, are all intricately linked together. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This is a very sensitive and beautiful film directed so well by John Lennon. The whales and dolphins were photographed so well that one could only have much admiration for these intellligent creatures. Growing up in New Zealand, I was aware of the aborigines in Australia. I am glad that their culture is now respected. This film is not for everyone, but for those who would like to see connection between cultures and races as well as harmony in the planet, this is a very fine work.

I couldn't recommend this enough! I was deeply touched to the core of my being! Had tears throughout. This not only sends an important message, but brings more awareness and also brought many of these people together that were intended to meet at this time. They finally feel like they've been given the opportunity to move forward and do what their life's mission has been all along, and time is of the essence!!! .We all can truly be Whale Dreamers and should be more in communication with them while doing our best for the planet Earth and all of it's peoples! Each of us, no matter where we are, has a tie with the whales. Close your eyes, breathe deep and picture your heart touching theirs. They are the most intelligent and intuitive being on this planet. VERY POWERFUL documentary and have shared this with many friends and intend to get it out there to more. Loved Julian Lennon's Saltwater song!
