To this day, Michel de Nostradame (AKA Nostradamus, 1503-1566) qualifies as one of the most intriguing and beguiling of all historical figures. An alleged "seer" who published a myriad of books prophesying world events, Nostradamus was alternately derided as a heretic, maligned as a fake, and praised by many as ordained with unearthly gifts.
