He was born William Claude Dukenfield, but to the world for over thirty years he was known as W.C. Fields, star of the vaudeville stage and of the cinema, first starting in silent films and then earning an impressive repertoire in the talkies. His classic films include My Little Chickadee, The Bank Dick, David Copperfield and Never Give a Sucker an Even Break.
