Synopsis of Trip Out

First-time feature filmmaker James Hausler offers a subversive take on the typical teen comedy with this hallucinogenic tale of two brothers, one sinfully delicious cheerleader, and the sexually-charged party that sets into motion a truly outlandish chain reaction. Tommy is a loaner but extrovert at heart who always seems to play second fiddle to his popular older brother Richard, while Richard's best friend Colby serves as the connecting tissue between the two disparate siblings. As the weekend approaches, domineering cheerleader Sasha begins making plans for the most erotic party in the history of their high school. Of course it doesn't take long for things to get out of hand, and as these three teenage rebels ingest a sizeable dose of hallucinogenic drugs they quickly drift into a dreamlike world populated by vindictive drug dealers and talking insects that display a rare wisdom. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
