Dragnet: The Big Drink (1954)
Claude Akins is cast as Mr. Ellis, whose wife's dead body has been found in a vacant lot. As Friday (Jack Webb) and Smith (Ben Alexander) try to get "just the facts", the grieving Ellis tries to drown his sorrows in liquor. But the more Ellis drinks, the more convinced the detectives become that he himself was responsible for his wife's death.
