Ordered to destroy a German bridge, Saunders (Vic Morrow) and Littlejohn (Dick Peabody) make their way to a command post in hopes of getting reinforcements. But the post has endured heavy enemy fire and the extra troops have scattered--leaving behind only four disreputable GI prisoners who were being held for court-martial.
